27th international conference

The 27th International Conference “Current Issues in the Phonetics and Phonology of Slavic Languages” will take place on 23–25 September 2026 in Prague at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University.

The conference is held on the occasion of a meeting of the Commission on the Phonetics and Phonology of Slavic Languages of the International Committee of Slavists.

Conference Topics

The thematic focus of the conference includes in particular:

  • Research on the segmental level of Slavic languages
  • Research on the suprasegmental level of Slavic languages
  • The use of modern methods in phonetic research
  • Acquisition of a Slavic language as L1, speech disorders, and therapy
  • Acquisition of a Slavic language as L2

Presentation Format

  • Length of presentations: 20 minutes + 5 minutes discussion
  • Conference languages: all Slavic languages
  • Format: in-person

Submission of Abstracts

  • Deadline for submissions: 31 May 2026
  • The submission system will open at the end of April on this website
  • Abstracts should be 100–300 words in length
  • Notification of acceptance: by 10 June 2026

Conference Fee

After acceptance into the conference programme, participants will be asked to pay the conference fee:

  • Standard fee: CZK 2,500 (EUR 100)
  • Reduced fee (students, seniors): CZK 1,250 (EUR 50)

The expected deadline for payment is 31 July 2026.

The conference fee covers refreshments throughout the conference and a conference dinner at the end of the first day.
